Trust

How long can I hold this breath?
Yesterday's memories, dreams, wishes,
Cherished within a cage of ribs,
Lungs brim-full, with recounted air kisses,
Can I wait?

Joy was inhaled with pure reckless abandon,
Light mirrored by stars in a dear beloved's eyes,
Life rushed in, no concerns for tomorrow,
Yet ... Alas ... Love imploded within this heart's panicked cries ...
''I WILL WAIT!''

This fullness not easily relinquished,
But pain punishes a grasping hand,
Stagnant stuckness, overwhelming,
Lost, behind curtains of tears, I stand,
I can't wait ...

So hope's tangled tendrils now gratefully concede,
Human will yields to Divine,
With 'Trust', I embrace this bitter-sweet exhale,
From Shiva's arms I'll emerge beyond time,
He awaits .....
